In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. |

요셉도 ㅐ다윗의 집 族屬(족속)인 故(고)로 ㄱ갈릴리 ㄴ나사렛 洞里(동리)에서 유대를 向(향)하여 ㄷ베들레헴이라 하는 ㄹ다윗의 洞里(동리)로
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) |

그 定婚(정혼)한 마리아와 함께 戶籍(호적)하러 올라가니 마리아가 이미 孕胎(잉태)되었더라
He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. |

거기 있을 그 때에 解産(해산)할 날이 차서
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. |
7 |
맏아들을 낳아 ㅁ襁褓(강보)로 싸서 ㅂ구유에 뉘었으니 이는 ㅅ舍館(사관)에 있을 곳이 없음이러라
and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. |

● 그 地境(지경)에 牧者(목자)들이 밖에서 밤에 自己(자기) 羊(양)떼를 지키더니
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. |

主(주)의 使者(사자)가 ㅇ곁에 서고 ㅈ主(주)의 榮光(영광)이 저희를 두루 비취매 크게 무서워 하는지라
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. |

天使(천사)가 이르되 무서워 말라 보라 내가 ㅊ온 百姓(백성)에게 미칠 큰 기쁨의 좋은 消息(소식)을 너희에게 傳(전)하노라
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. |

오늘날 ㅋ다윗의 洞里(동리)에 너희를 爲(위)하여 ㅌ救主(구주)가 ㅍ나셨으니 곧 ㅎ그리스도 ㅏ主(주)시니라
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. |

너희가 가서 ㅑ襁褓(강보)에 싸여 구유에 누인 아기를 보리니 이것이 너희에게 ㅓ標蹟(표적)이니라 하더니
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. |

忽然(홀연)히 ㅕ許多(허다)한 天軍(천군)이 그 天使(천사)와 함께 있어 하나님을 讚頌(찬송)하여 가로되
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, |

ㅗ至極(지극)히 높은 곳에서는 하나님께 ㅛ榮光(영광)이요 땅에서는 ㅜ기뻐하심을 입은 사람들 中(중)에 ㅠ平和(평화)로다 하니라
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. |

● 天使(천사)들이 떠나 하늘로 올라가니 牧者(목자)가 서로 말하되 이제 베들레헴까지 가서 主(주)께서 우리에게 알리신 바 이 이루어진 일을 보자 하고
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. |

빨리 가서 마리아와 요셉과 으구유에 누인 아기를 찾아서
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. |
17 |
보고 天使(천사)가 自己(자기)들에게 이 아기에 對(대)하여 말한 것을 告(고)하니
When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. |
18 |
듣는 者(자)가 다 牧者(목자)의 말하는 일을 奇異(기이)히 여기되
and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. |
19 |
이마리아는 이 모든 말을 마음에 지키어 생각하니라
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. |
20 |
牧者(목자)가 自己(자기)들에게 이르던 바와 같이 듣고 본 그 모든 것을 因(인)하여 ㅐ하나님께 榮光(영광)을 돌리고 讚頌(찬송)하며 돌아가니라

● ㄱ割禮(할례)할 八日(팔일)이 되매 ㄴ그 이름을 예수라 하니 곧 受胎(수태)하기 前(전)에 天使(천사)의 일컬은 바러라
On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise him, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he had been conceived. And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. |

● 모세의 法(법)대로 ㄷ潔禮(결례)의 날이 차매 아기를 데리고 예루살렘에 올라가니
When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; |

이는 ㄹ主(주)의 律法(율법)에 쓴 바 ㅁ첫 胎(태)에 처음 난 男子(남자)마다 主(주)의 거룩한 者(자)라 하리라 한 대로 아기를 ㅂ主(주)께 드리고
(as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord"), (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) |

또 主(주)의 律法(율법)에 말씀하신 대로 ㅅ비둘기 한 雙(쌍)이나 或(혹) 어린 斑鳩(반구) 둘로 祭祀(제사)하려 함이더라

예루살렘에 시므온이라 하는 사람이 있으니 이 사람이 ㅇ義(의)롭고 ㅈ敬虔(경건)하여 ㅊ이스라엘의 慰勞(위로)를 ㅋ기다리는 者(자)라 聖靈(성령)이 그 위에 계시더라
Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. |

저가 ㅌ主(주)의 그리스도를 보기 前(전)에 ㅍ죽지 아니하리라 하는 聖靈(성령)의
指示(지시)를 받았더니
It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. |

感動(감동)으로 聖殿(성전)에 들어가매 마침 ㅏ父母(부모)가 律法(율법)의 前例(전례)대로 行(행)하고자 하여 그 아기 예수를 데리고 오는지라
Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, |

Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: |

ㅗ내 눈이 ㅛ主(주)의 救援(구원)을 보았사오니
For my eyes have seen your salvation, For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, |

ㅜ이는 萬民(만민) 앞에 豫備(예비)하신 것이요
which you have prepared in the sight of all people, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; |
32 |
ㅠ異邦(이방)을 비추는 으빛이요 이主(주)의 百姓(백성) 이스라엘의 ㅐ榮光(영광)이니이다 하니
a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel." A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. |

ㄱ그 父母(부모)가 그 아기에 對(대)한 말들을 奇異(기이)히 여기더라

The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him. And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him. |

시므온이 저희에게 祝福(축복)하고 그 母親(모친) 마리아에게 일러 가로되 보라 이 아이는 이스라엘 中(중) 많은 사람의 ㄴ敗(패)하고 興(흥)함을 爲(위)하여
ㄷ誹謗(비방)을 받는 標蹟(표적)되기 爲(위)하여 세움을 입었고
Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: "This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; |

또 칼이 네 마음을 찌르듯 하리라 이는 여러 사람의 마음의 생각을 드러내려 함이니라 하더라
so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too." (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. |

또 아셀 支派(지파) 바누엘의 딸 안나라 하는 ㄹ先知者(선지자)가 있어 나이 매우 늙었더라 그가 出嫁(출가)한 後(후) 일곱 해 동안 男便(남편)과 함께 살다가

寡婦(과부) 된 지 八十四年(팔십사년)이라 이 사람이 聖殿(성전)을 떠나지 아니하고 晝夜(주야)에 ㅁ禁食(금식)하며 祈禱(기도)함으로 ㅂ섬기더니
and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. |

마침 이 때에 나아와서 하나님께 感謝(감사)하고 ㅅ예루살렘의 救贖(구속)됨을 바라는 모든 사람에게 이 아기에 對(대)하여 말하니라
Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. |

ㅇ主(주)의 律法(율법)을 좇아 모든 일을 畢(필)하고 갈릴리로 돌아가 본 洞里(동리) ㅈ나사렛에 이르니라
When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. |
40 |
● ㅊ아기가 자라며 强(강)하여지고 智慧(지혜)가 充足(충족)하며 ㅋ하나님의 恩惠(은혜)가 그 위에 있더라
And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him. And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. |

● ㅌ그 父母(부모)가 ㅍ해마다 ㅎ逾越節(유월절)을 當(당)하면 예루살렘으로 가더니
Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. |

예수께서 열 두 살 될 때에 저희가 ㅏ이 節期(절기)의 前例(전례)를 좇아 올라 갔다가

ㅑ그 날들을 마치고 돌아갈 때에 아이 예수는 예루살렘에 머무셨더라 그 父母(부모)는 이를 알지 못하고
After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. |

同行(동행) 中(중)에 있는 줄로 생각하고 하룻길을 간 후 親族(친족)과 아는 者(자) 中(중)에서 찾되
Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. |

만나지 못하매 찾으면서 예루살렘에 돌아갔더니
When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. |
46 |
사흘 後(후)에 聖殿(성전)에서 만난즉 그가 ㅓ先生(선생)들 中(중)에 ㅕ앉으사 저희에게 듣기도 하시며 묻기도 하시니
After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. |

듣는 者(자)가 다 그 智慧(지혜)와 對答(대답)을 奇異(기이)히 여기더라
Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. |

그 父母(부모)가 보고 놀라며 그 母親(모친)은 가로되 아이야 어찌하여 우리에게 이렇게 하였느냐 보라 ㅗ네 아버지와 내가 근심하여 너를 찾았노라
When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you." And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. |

예수께서 가라사대 어찌하여 나를 찾으셨나이까 ㅛ내가 1)ㅜ내 아버지 집에 ㅠ있어야 될 줄을 알지 못하셨나이까 하시니
Why were you searching for me? he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? |

兩親(양친)이 그 하신 말씀을 으깨닫지 못하더라
But they did not understand what he was saying to them. And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. |

예수께서 한가지로 내려가사 나사렛에 이르러 順從(순종)하여 받드시더라 이그 母親(모친)은 이 모든 2)말을 마음에 두니라

● 예수는 그 ㅐ智慧(지혜)와 그 ㄱ키가 자라가며
하나님과 사람에게 더 사랑스러워 가시더라
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. |
