Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; |

who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. |
5 |
ㅊ그리스도의 苦難(고난)이 우리에게 넘친 것같이 우리의 慰勞(위로)도 그리스도로 말미암아 넘치는도다
For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. |

If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. |

롬8:17
And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. |

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: |

Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: |

He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; |

Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God. We have done so not according to worldly wisdom but according to God's grace. For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. |

as you have understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that you can boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus. As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus. |

When I planned this, did I do it lightly? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say, "Yes, yes" and "No, no"? When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay? |

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not "Yes" and "No," but in him it has always been "Yes."
