ㅏ謹愼(근신)을 지키며 네 입술로 ㅑ知識(지식)을 지키도록 하라
that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge. That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge. |

大抵(대저) ㅓ淫女(음녀)의 입술은 ㅕ꿀을 떨어뜨리며 그 입은 ㅗ기름보다 미끄러우나
For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: |

나중은 ㅛ쑥 같이 ㅜ쓰고 ㅠ두 날 가진 칼같이 으날카로우며
but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword. But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. |

그 발은 이死地(사지)로 내려가며 그 걸음은 陰府(음부)로 나아가나니

그는 ㅐ生命(생명)의 平坦(평탄)한 길을 찾지 못하며 自己(자기) 길이 든든치 못하여 그것을 깨닫지 못하느니라
She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths are crooked, but she knows it not. Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them. |

● ㄱ그런즉 아들들아 나를 들으며 내 입의 말을 버리지 말고

Now then, my sons, listen to me; do not turn aside from what I say. Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. |

네 길을 그에게서 멀리하라 그 집 門(문)에도 가까이 가지 말라
Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house, Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: |

두렵건대 네 尊榮(존영)이 남에게 잃어버리게 되며 네 壽限(수한)이
殘暴者(잔포자)에게 빼앗기게 될까 하노라
lest you give your best strength to others and your years to one who is cruel, Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: |

두렵건대 他人(타인)이 네 財物(재물)로 充足(충족)하게 되며 네 ㄴ受苦(수고)한 것이 外人(외인)의 집에 있게 될까 하노라

You will say, "How I hated discipline! How my heart spurned correction! And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; |

내 先生(선생)의 목소리를 聽從(청종)치 아니하며 나를 가르치는 이에게 귀를 기울이지 아니하였던고
I would not obey my teachers or listen to my instructors. And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me! |

많은 무리들이 모인 中(중)에서 ㅂ모든 惡(악)에 거의 빠지게 되었었노라 하게 될까 하노라

● 너는 ㅅ네 우물에서 물을 마시며 네 샘에서 흐르는 물을 마시라
Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well. Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. |

어찌하여 네 ㅇ샘물을 집 밖으로 넘치게 하겠으며 네 도랑물을 ㅈ거리로 흘러가게 하겠느냐
Should your springs overflow in the streets, your streams of water in the public squares? Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. |

ㅊ그 물로 네게만 있게 하고 他人(타인)으로 더불어 그것을 나누지 말라

Let them be yours alone, never to be shared with strangers. Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee. |

네 샘으로 福(복)되게 하라 네가 ㅋ젊어서 取(취)한 아내를 ㅌ즐거워하라
May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. |

그는 사랑스러운 ㅍ암사슴 같고 아름다운 암노루 같으니 너는 그 품을 ㅎ恒常(항상) 足(족)하게 여기며 그 사랑을 恒常(항상) 戀慕(연모)하라
A loving doe, a graceful deer--may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love. |

내 아들아 어찌하여 ㅏ淫女(음녀)를 戀慕(연모)하겠으며 어찌하여 異邦(이방) 계집의 가슴을 안겠느냐

Why be captivated, my son, by an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another man's wife? And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? |

大抵(대저) ㅑ사람의 길은 ㅓ여호와의 눈 앞에 있나니 그가 ㅕ그 모든 길을 1)平坦(평탄)케 하시느니라
For a man's ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all his paths. For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. |

惡人(악인)은 ㅗ自己(자기)의 惡(악)에 ㅛ걸리며 그 罪(죄)의 줄에 매이나니
The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. |

ㅜ그는 訓戒(훈계)를 받지 아니함을 因(인)하여 죽겠고 미련함이 많음을 因(인)하여 ㅠ昏迷(혼미)하게 되느니라
He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly. He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray. |
