正月(정월)에 이스라엘 子孫(자손) 곧 온 會衆(회중)이 ㅂ신 曠野(광야)에 이르러서 百姓(백성)이 가데스에 居(거)하더니 ㅅ미리암이 거기서 죽으매 거기 葬事(장사)하니라
In the first month the whole Israelite community arrived at the Desert of Zin, and they stayed at Kadesh. There Miriam died and was buried. Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. |

● ㅇ會衆(회중)이 물이 없으므로 ㅈ모여서 모세와 아론을 攻駁(공박)하니라
Now there was no water for the community, and the people gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron. And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. |

ㅊ百姓(백성)이 모세와 다투어 말하여 가로되 ㅋ우리 兄弟(형제)들이 여호와 앞에서 죽을 때에 우리도 죽었더면 좋을 뻔 하였도다
They quarreled with Moses and said, "If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the LORD! And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! |

너희가 어찌하여 여호와의 總會(총회)를 이 曠野(광야)로 引導(인도)하여 올려서 우리와 우리 짐승으로 다 여기서 죽게 하느냐
Why did you bring the LORD'S community into this desert, that we and our livestock should die here? And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there? |

너희가 ㅌ어찌하여 우리를 애굽에서 나오게 하여 이 惡(악)한 곳으로 引導(인도)하였느냐 이곳에는 播種(파종)할 곳이 없고 無花果(무화과)도 없고 葡萄(포도)도 없고 石榴(석류)도 없고 마실 물도 없도다

Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain or figs, grapevines or pomegranates. And there is no water to drink!" And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink. |

모세와 아론이 總會(총회) 앞을 떠나 會幕(회막) 門(문)에 이르러 ㅍ엎드리매 ㅎ여호와의 榮光(영광)이 그들에게 나타나며
Moses and Aaron went from the assembly to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and fell facedown, and the glory of the LORD appeared to them. And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them. |

여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대
The LORD said to Moses, And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, |
8 |
ㅏ지팡이를 가지고 네 兄(형) 아론과 함께 會衆(회중)을 모으고 그들의 目前(목전)에서 너희는 磐石(반석)에게 命(명)하여 물을 내라 하라 ㅑ네가 그 磐石(반석)으로 물을 내게 하여 會衆(회중)과 그들의 짐승에게 마시울찌니라
Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink. Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. |

모세가 그 命(명)대로 ㅓ여호와의 앞에서 지팡이를 取(취)하니라

So Moses took the staff from the LORD'S presence, just as he commanded him. And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. |

● 모세와 아론이 總會(총회)를 그 磐石(반석) 앞에 모으고 모세가 그들에게 이르되 悖逆(패역)한 너희여 ㅕ들으라 우리가 너희를 爲(위)하여 이 磐石(반석)에서 물을 내랴 하고
He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, "Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?" And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? |

그 손을 들어 그 지팡이로 磐石(반석)을 두 番(번) 치매 물이 많이 솟아 나오므로 會衆(회중)과 그들의 짐승이 마시니라
Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. |

여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 이르시되 ㅗ너희가 나를 믿지 아니하고 이스라엘 子孫(자손)의 目前(목전)에 ㅛ나의 거룩함을 나타내지 아니한 故(고)로 너희는 이 總會(총회)를 내가 그들에게 준 땅으로 引導(인도)하여 들이지 못하리라 하시니라
But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them." And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. |

이스라엘 子孫(자손)이 여호와와 다투었으므로 ㅜ이를 1)므리바 물이라 하니라 여호와께서 그들 中(중)에서 그 거룩함을 나타내셨더라
These were the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the LORD and where he showed himself holy among them. This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them. |

● ㅠ모세가 가데스에서 으에돔 王(왕)에게 使者(사자)를 보내며 이르되 이當身(당신)의 兄弟(형제) 이스라엘의 말에 우리의 當(당)한 모든 苦難(고난)을 當身(당신)도 아시거니와
Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, saying: "This is what your brother Israel says: You know about all the hardships that have come upon us. And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us: |

ㅐ우리 列祖(열조)가 애굽으로 내려갔으므로 ㄱ우리가 애굽에 오래 居(거)하였더니 ㄴ애굽人(인)이 우리 列祖(열조)와 우리를 虐待(학대)하였으므로
Our forefathers went down into Egypt, and we lived there many years. The Egyptians mistreated us and our fathers, How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers: |

ㄷ우리가 여호와께 부르짖었더니 우리 소리를 들으시고 ㄹ天使(천사)를 보내사 우리를 애굽에서 引導(인도)하여 내셨나이다 이제 우리가 當身(당신)의 邊方(변방) 모퉁이 한 城邑(성읍) 가데스에 있사오니
but when we cried out to the LORD, he heard our cry and sent an angel and brought us out of Egypt. "Now we are here at Kadesh, a town on the edge of your territory. And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border: |

請(청)컨대 ㅁ우리로 當身(당신)의 땅을 通過(통과)하게 하소서 우리가 밭으로나 葡萄園(포도원)으로나 通過(통과)하지 아니하고 ㅂ우물물도 空(공)히 마시지 아니하고 우리가 王(왕)의 大路(대로)로만 通過(통과)하고 當身(당신)의 地境(지경)에서 나가기까지 左便(좌편)으로나 右便(우편)으로 치우치지 아니하리이다 한다 하라 하였더니
Please let us pass through your country. We will not go through any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will travel along the king's highway and not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory." Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders. |

에돔 王(왕)이 對答(대답)하되 너는 우리 가운데로 通過(통과)하지 못하리라 내가 나가서 칼로 너를 맞을까 念慮(염려)하라
But Edom answered: "You may not pass through here; if you try, we will march out and attack you with the sword." And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword. |
19 |
이스라엘 子孫(자손)이 이르되 우리가 大路(대로)로 通過(통과)하겠고 ㅅ우리나 우리 짐승이 當身(당신)의 물을 마시면 ㅇ그 값을 줄 것이라 우리가 徒步(도보)로 通過(통과)할 뿐인즉 아무 일도 없으리이다 하나
The Israelites replied: "We will go along the main road, and if we or our livestock drink any of your water, we will pay for it. We only want to pass through on foot--nothing else." And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing any thing else, go through on my feet. |

그는 가로되 ㅈ너는 지나가지 못하리라 하고 에돔 王(왕)이 많은 百姓(백성)을 거느리고 나와서 强(강)한 손으로 막으니
Again they answered: "You may not pass through." Then Edom came out against them with a large and powerful army. And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand. |

에돔 王(왕)이 이같이 이스라엘의 그 境內(경내)로 ㅊ通過(통과)함을 容納(용납)지 아니하므로 이스라엘이 그들에게서 ㅋ돌이키니라
Since Edom refused to let them go through their territory, Israel turned away from them. Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him. |
22 |
● 이스라엘 子孫(자손) 곧 온 會衆(회중)이 ㅌ가데스에서 進行(진행)하여 ㅍ호르山(산)에 이르렀더니
The whole Israelite community set out from Kadesh and came to Mount Hor. And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor. |
23 |
여호와께서 에돔 땅 邊境(변경) 호르山(산)에서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하시니라 가라사대
At Mount Hor, near the border of Edom, the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying, |
24 |
아론은 ㅎ그 列祖(열조)에게로 돌아가고 내가 이스라엘 子孫(자손)에게 준 땅에는 들어가지 못하리니 이는 ㅏ너희가 므리바 물에서 내 말을 拒逆(거역)한 緣故(연고)니라
Aaron will be gathered to his people. He will not enter the land I give the Israelites, because both of you rebelled against my command at the waters of Meribah. Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah. |
25 |
너는 아론과 그 아들 엘르아살을 데리고 호르山(산)에 올라
Get Aaron and his son Eleazar and take them up Mount Hor. Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor: |
26 |
아론의 옷을 벗겨 그 아들 엘르아살에게 입히라 아론은 거기서 죽어 그 列祖(열조)에게로 돌아가리라
Remove Aaron's garments and put them on his son Eleazar, for Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will die there." And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there. |
27 |
모세가 여호와의 命(명)을 좇아 그들과 함께 會衆(회중)의 目前(목전)에서 호르山(산)에 오르니라
Moses did as the LORD commanded: They went up Mount Hor in the sight of the whole community. And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. |
28 |
ㅑ모세가 아론의 옷을 벗겨 그 아들 엘르아살에게 입히매 아론이 ㅓ그 山(산)꼭대기에서 죽으니라 모세와 엘르아살이 山(산)에서 내려오니
Moses removed Aaron's garments and put them on his son Eleazar. And Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain, And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount. |
29 |
온 會衆(회중) 곧 이스라엘 온 族屬(족속)이 아론의 죽은 것을 보고 ㅕ爲(위)하여 三十日(삼십일)을 哀哭(애곡)하였더라

and when the whole community learned that Aaron had died, the entire house of Israel mourned for him thirty days. And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel. |
