네가 ㅠ百姓(백성) 앞에 세울 律例(율례)는 이러하니라
These are the laws you are to set before them: Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them. |

● 네가 으히브리 종을 사면 그가 六年(육년) 동안 섬길 것이요 第(제) 七年(칠년)에는 값 없이 나가 自由(자유)할 것이요
If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything. If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. |

그가 單身(단신)으로 왔으면 單身(단신)으로 나갈 것이요 장가 들었으면 그 아내도 그와 함께 나가려니와
If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him. If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him. |

上典(상전)이 그에게 아내를 줌으로 그 아내가 子女間(자녀간) 낳았으면 그 아내와 그 子息(자식)들은 上典(상전)에게 屬(속)할 것이요 그는 單身(단신)으로 나갈 것이로되
If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free. If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. |

이종이 眞情(진정)으로 말하기를 내가 上典(상전)과 내 妻子(처자)를 사랑하니 나가서 自由(자유)하지 않겠노라 하면
But if the servant declares, 'I love my master and my wife and children and do not want to go free,' And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: |

上典(상전)이 그를 데리고 ㅐ裁判長(재판장)에게로 갈 것이요 또 그를 門(문)이나 門楔柱(문설주) 앞으로 데리고 가서 그것에다가 송곳으로 그 ㄱ귀를 뚫을 것이라 그가
永永(영영)히 그 上典(상전)을 섬기리라
then his master must take him before the judges. He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life. Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever. |

● 사람이 그 ㄴ딸을 女(여)종으로 팔았으면 그는 男(남)종 같이 나오지 못할찌며

If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as menservants do. And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. |

萬一(만일) 上典(상전)이 그를 기뻐 아니하여 相關(상관)치 아니하면 그를 贖身(속신)케 할것이나 그 女子(여자)를 속임이 되었으니 他國人(타국인)에게 팔지 못할
것이요
If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself, he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her. |

萬一(만일) 그를 自己(자기) 아들에게 주기로 하였으면 그를 딸 같이 待接(대접)할 것이요
If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. |

萬一(만일) 上典(상전)이 달리 장가를 들찌라도 그의 衣服(의복)과 飮食(음식)과 ㄷ同寢(동침)하는 것은 끊지 못할 것이요

If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights. If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. |

이 세 가지를 시행하지 아니하면 그는 속전을 내지 않고 거저 나가게 할 것이니라
If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money. And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money. |
12 |
● ㄹ사람을 쳐 죽인 者(자)는 반드시 죽일 것이나
Anyone who strikes a man and kills him shall surely be put to death. He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. |
13 |
萬一(만일) 사람이 ㅁ計劃(계획)한 일이 아니라 나 하나님이 사람을 그 손에 붙임이면 ㅂ내가 爲(위)하여 한 곳을 定(정)하리니 그 사람이 그리로 逃亡(도망)할
것이며
However, if he does not do it intentionally, but God lets it happen, he is to flee to a place I will designate. And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee. |

사람이 그 이웃을 짐짓 謀殺(모살)하였으면 너는 그를 ㅅ내 壇(단)에서라도 잡아내어 죽일찌니라
But if a man schemes and kills another man deliberately, take him away from my altar and put him to death. But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die. |

● 自己(자기) ㅇ아비나 어미를 치는 者(자)는 반드시 죽일찌니라

Anyone who attacks his father or his mother must be put to death. And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. |
16 |
● ㅈ사람을 후린 者(자)가 그 사람을 팔았든지 ㅊ自己(자기) 手下(수하)에 두었든지 그를 반드시 죽일찌니라
Anyone who kidnaps another and either sells him or still has him when he is caught must be put to death. And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. |

● 그 ㅋ아비나 어미를 詛呪(저주)하는 者(자)는 반드시 죽일찌니라
Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death. And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. |
18 |
● 사람이 서로 싸우다가 하나가 돌이나 주먹으로 그 敵手(적수)를 쳤으나 그가 죽지 않고 자리에 누었다가
If men quarrel and one hits the other with a stone or with his fist and he does not die but is confined to bed, And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed: |

지팡이를 짚고 起動(기동)하면 그를 친 者(자)가 刑罰(형벌)은 免(면)하되 其間(기간) 損害(손해)를 賠償(배상)하고 그로 全治(전치)되게 할찌니라
the one who struck the blow will not be held responsible if the other gets up and walks around outside with his staff; however, he must pay the injured man for the loss of his time and see that he is completely healed. If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed. |
20 |
● 사람이 매로 그 男(남)종이나 女(여)종을 쳐서 當場(당장)에 죽으면 반드시 刑罰(형벌)을 받으려니와
If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. |
21 |
그가 一日(일일)이나 二日(이일)을 延命(연명)하면 刑罰(형벌)을 免(면)하리니 ㅌ그는 上典(상전)의 金錢(금전)임이니라
but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money. |
22 |
● 사람이 서로 싸우다가 아이 밴 女人(여인)을 다쳐 落胎(낙태)케 하였으나 다른 害(해)가 없으면 그 男便(남편)의 請求(청구)대로 반드시 罰金(벌금)을 내되 ㅍ裁判長(재판장)의 判決(판결)을 좇아 ㅎ낼 것이니라
If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. |
23 |
그러나 다른 害(해)가 있으면 갚되 ㅏ生命(생명)은 生命(생명)으로,

But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, |

ㅑ눈은 눈으로, 이는 이로, 손은 손으로, 발은 발로,
eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, |

데운 것은
데움으로,
傷(상)하게 한것은 傷(상)함으로, 때린 것은 때림으로 갚을찌니라
burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. |
26 |
● 사람이 그 男(남)종의 한 눈이나 女(여)종의 한 눈을 쳐서 傷(상)하게 하면 그 눈 代身(대신)에 그를 놓을 것이며
If a man hits a manservant or maidservant in the eye and destroys it, he must let the servant go free to compensate for the eye. And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake. |
27 |
그 男(남)종의 한 이나 女(여)종의 한 이를 쳐서 빠뜨리면 그 이 代身(대신)에 그를 놓을찌니라
And if he knocks out the tooth of a manservant or maidservant, he must let the servant go free to compensate for the tooth. And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake. |
28 |
● 소가 男子(남자)나 女子(여자)를 받아서 죽이면 그 ㅓ소는 반드시 돌에 맞아 죽을 것이요 그 고기는 먹지 말 것이며 임자는
刑罰(형벌)을 免(면)하려니와

If a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull must be stoned to death, and its meat must not be eaten. But the owner of the bull will not be held responsible. If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit. |
29 |
소는 本來(본래) 받는 버릇이 있고 그 임자는 그로 因(인)하여 警告(경고)를 받았으되 團束(단속)하지 아니하므로 男女間(남녀간)에 받아 죽이면 그 소는 돌로 쳐 죽일 것이고 임자도 죽일
것이며
If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up and it kills a man or woman, the bull must be stoned and the owner also must be put to death. But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death. |
30 |
萬一(만일) 그에게 贖罪金(속죄금)을 命(명)하면 무릇 그 命(명)한 것을 生命(생명)의 ㅕ贖(속)으로 낼 것이요
However, if payment is demanded of him, he may redeem his life by paying whatever is demanded. If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him. |
31 |
아들을 받든지 딸을 받든지 이 律例(율례)대로 그 임자에게 行(행)할 것이며
This law also applies if the bull gores a son or daughter. Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him. |
32 |
소가 萬一(만일) 男(남)종이나 女(여)종을 받으면 소 임자가 ㅗ銀(은) 三十(삼십) 세겔을 그 上典(상전)에게 줄 것이요 소는 돌에 맞아 죽을찌니라
If the bull gores a male or female slave, the owner must pay thirty shekels of silver to the master of the slave, and the bull must be stoned. If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned. |
33 |
● 사람이 구덩이를 열어 두거나 구덩이를 파고 덮지 아니함으로 소나 나귀가 거기에 빠지면
If a man uncovers a pit or digs one and fails to cover it and an ox or a donkey falls into it, And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein; |
34 |
그 구덩이 主人(주인)이 잘 措處(조처)하여 짐승의 임자에게 돈을 줄 것이요 죽은 것은 그의 차지가 될찌니라
the owner of the pit must pay for the loss; he must pay its owner, and the dead animal will be his. The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his. |
35 |
● 이 사람의 소가 저 사람의 소를 받아 죽이면 산 소를 팔아 그 값을 半分(반분)하고 죽은 것도 半分(반분)하려니와
If a man's bull injures the bull of another and it dies, they are to sell the live one and divide both the money and the dead animal equally. And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide. |
36 |
그 소가 本來(본래) 받는 버릇이 있는 줄을 알고도 그 임자가 團束(단속)하지 아니하였으면 그는 소로 소를 갚을 것이요 죽은 것은 그의 차지가 될찌니라
However, if it was known that the bull had the habit of goring, yet the owner did not keep it penned up, the owner must pay, animal for animal, and the dead animal will be his. Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own. |
