ㅛ아비야가 그 列祖(열조)와 함께 자매 다윗城(성)에 葬事(장사)되고 그 아들 아사가 代身(대신)하여 王(왕)이 되니 그 時代(시대)에 그 땅이 十年(십년)을 平安(평안)하니라

And Abijah rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. Asa his son succeeded him as king, and in his days the country was at peace for ten years. So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years. |

아사가 그 하나님 여호와 보시기에 善(선)과 正義(정의)를 行(행)하여
Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God. And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God: |

異邦(이방) 祭壇(제단)과 ㅜ山堂(산당)을 없이하고 ㅠ柱像(주상)을 毁破(훼파)하며 으아세라 像(상)을 찍고
He removed the foreign altars and the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves: |

유다 사람을 命(명)하여 그 列祖(열조)의 하나님 여호와를 求(구)하게 하며 그 律法(율법)과 命令(명령)을 行(행)하게 하고
He commanded Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, and to obey his laws and commands. And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment. |

또 유다 모든 城邑(성읍)에서 山堂(산당)과 이太陽像(태양상)을 없이하매 나라가 그 앞에서 平安(평안)함을 얻으니라
He removed the high places and incense altars in every town in Judah, and the kingdom was at peace under him. Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him. |

여호와께서 아사에게 ㅐ平安(평안)을 주셨으므로 그 땅이 平安(평안)하여 여러해 싸움이 없은지라 ㄱ저가 堅固(견고)한 城邑(성읍)들을 유다에 建築(건축)하니라
He built up the fortified cities of Judah, since the land was at peace. No one was at war with him during those years, for the LORD gave him rest. And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest. |

아사가 일찌기 유다 사람에게 이르되 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와를 찾았으므로 이 땅이 아직 우리 앞에 있나니 우리가 이 城邑(성읍)들을 建築(건축)하고 그 周圍(주위)에 ㄴ城郭(성곽)과
望臺(망대)와 門(문)과 빗장을 만들자 우리가 主(주)를 찾았으므로 主(주)께서 우리에게 四方(사방)의 平安(평안)을 주셨느니라 하고 이에 저희가
城邑(성읍)을 亨通(형통)하게 建築(건축)하였더라

Let us build up these towns, he said to Judah, "and put walls around them, with towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours, because we have sought the LORD our God; we sought him and he has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered. Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered. |

아사의 軍隊(군대)는 유다 中(중)에서 큰 防牌(방패)와 槍(창)을 잡는 者(자)가 ㄷ三十萬(삼십만)이요 베냐민 中(중)에서 작은 防牌(방패)를 잡으며 활을 당기는 者(자)가
二十八萬(이십팔만)이라 다 큰 勇士(용사)더라

Asa had an army of three hundred thousand men from Judah, equipped with large shields and with spears, and two hundred and eighty thousand from Benjamin, armed with small shields and with bows. All these were brave fighting men. And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour. |

● ㄹ구스 사람 세라가 저희를 치려하여 軍士(군사) 百萬(백만)과 兵車(병거) 三百乘(삼백승)을 거느리고 ㅁ마레사에 이르매
Zerah the Cushite marched out against them with a vast army and three hundred chariots, and came as far as Mareshah. And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah. |

Asa went out to meet him, and they took up battle positions in the Valley of Zephathah near Mareshah. Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah. |

그 하나님 여호와께 ㅅ부르짖어 가로되 여호와여 强(강)한 者(자)와 弱(약)한 者(자) 사이에는 主(주) 밖에 도와줄 이가 없사오니 우리 하나님 여호와여 우리를 도우소서
ㅇ우리가 主(주)를 依支(의지)하오며 ㅈ主(주)의 이름을 依託(의탁)하옵고 이 많은 무리를 치러왔나이다 여호와여 主(주)는 우리 하나님이시오니 願(원)컨대 사람으로 主(주)를 이기지 못하게 하옵소서 하였더니
Then Asa called to the LORD his God and said, "LORD, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. O LORD, you are our God; do not let man prevail against you." And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee. |

ㅊ여호와께서 구스 사람을 아사와 유다 사람 앞에서 쳐서 敗(패)하게 하시니 구스 사람이 逃亡(도망)하는지라

The LORD struck down the Cushites before Asa and Judah. The Cushites fled, So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled. |

아사와 그 좇는 者(자)가 구스 사람을 쫓아 ㅋ그랄까지 이르매 이에 구스 사람이 엎드러지고 살아 남은 者(자)가 없었으니 이는 여호와 앞에서와 그 軍隊(군대) 앞에서
敗亡(패망)하였음이라 擄略(노략)한 物件(물건)이 甚(심)히 많았더라
and Asa and his army pursued them as far as Gerar. Such a great number of Cushites fell that they could not recover; they were crushed before the LORD and his forces. The men of Judah carried off a large amount of plunder. And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil. |

ㅌ여호와께서 그랄 四面(사면) 모든 城邑(성읍) 百姓(백성)을 두렵게 하시니 무리가 그 모든 城邑(성읍)을 치고 그 가운데 있는 많은 物件(물건)을 擄略(노략)하고
They destroyed all the villages around Gerar, for the terror of the LORD had fallen upon them. They plundered all these villages- since there was much booty there. And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them. |

또 짐승 지키는 天幕(천막)을 치고 羊(양)과 약대를 많이 이끌고 예루살렘으로 돌아왔더라
They also attacked the camps of the herdsmen and carried off droves of sheep and goats and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem. They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem. |
