내가 마음을 다하여 이 모든 일을 窮究(궁구)하며 살펴본즉 ㅕ義人(의인)과 智慧者(지혜자)나
그들의 行(행)하는 일이나 다 ㅗ하나님의 손에 있으니 사랑을 받을는지 미움을 받을는지 사람이 알지 못하는 것은 모두 그 未來(미래)임이니라
So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God's hands, but no man knows whether love or hate awaits him. For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. |

● ㅛ모든 사람에게 臨(임)하는 모든 것이 一般(일반)이라 ㅜ義人(의인)과 惡人(악인)이며 善(선)하고 깨끗한 者(자)와 깨끗지 않은 者(자)며
祭祀(제사)를 드리는 者(자)와 祭祀(제사)를 드리지 아니하는 者(자)의 結局(결국)이 一般(일반)이니 善人(선인)과 罪人(죄인)이며 ㅠ盟誓(맹세)하는 者(자)와
盟誓(맹세)하기를 무서워하는 者(자)가 一般(일반)이로다
All share a common destiny--the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not. As it is with the good man, so with the sinner; as it is with those who take oaths, so with those who are afraid to take them. All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath. |

This is the evil in everything that happens under the sun: The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of men, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead. This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead. |

모든 산 者(자) 中(중)에 參與(참여)한 者(자)가 所望(소망)이 있음은 산 개가 죽은 獅子(사자)보다 나음이니라
Anyone who is among the living has hope--even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. |

무릇 산
者(자)는 죽을 줄을 알되 이죽은 者(자)는 아무 것도 모르며 다시는 賞(상)도 받지 못하는 것은 ㅐ그 1)이름이 잊어버린 바 됨이라
For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten. For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. |

그 사랑함과 미워함과 猜忌(시기)함이 없어진지 오래니 해 아래서 行(행)하는 모든 일에 저희가 다시는 永永(영영)히 分福(분복)이
없느니라
Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. |

● 너는 가서 ㄱ기쁨으로 네 植物(식물)을 먹고 즐거운 마음으로 네 葡萄酒(포도주)를 마실찌어다 이는 하나님이 너의 하는 일을 벌써 기쁘게 받으셨음이니라

ㄴ네 衣服(의복)을 恒常(항상) 희게하며 네 머리에 香(향)ㄷ기름을 그치지 않게 할찌니라
Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil. Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment. |

네 헛된 平生(평생)의 모든 날 곧 하나님이 해 아래서 네게 주신 모든 ㄹ헛된 날에 ㅁ사랑하는 아내와
함께 즐겁게 살찌어다 이는 네가 一平生(일평생)에 해 아래서 受苦(수고)하고 얻은 ㅂ分福(분복)이니라
Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun--all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun. Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. |

ㅅ무릇 네 손이 일을 當(당)하는대로 ㅇ힘을 다하여 할찌어다 네가 將次(장차) 들어갈 2)陰府(음부)에는 ㅈ일도 없고 計劃(계획)도 없고 知識(지식)도 없고 智慧(지혜)도 없음이니라
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. |

● 내가 ㅊ돌이켜 해 아래서 보니 ㅋ빠른 競走者(경주자)라고 先着(선착)하는 것이 아니며 ㅌ有力者(유력자)라고 戰爭(전쟁)에 勝利(승리)하는 것이 아니며 智慧者(지혜자)라고 植物(식물)을 얻는 것이 아니며 明哲者(명철자)라고 財物(재물)을 얻는 것이 아니며 技能者(기능자)라고 恩寵(은총)을 입는 것이 아니니 이는
時期(시기)와 ㅍ偶然(우연)이 ㅎ이 모든 者(자)에게 臨(임)함이라
I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. |

大抵(대저) 사람은 ㅏ自己(자기)의 時期(시기)를 알지 못하나니 물고기가 災殃(재앙)의 그물에 걸리고 ㅑ새가 올무에
걸림같이 人生(인생)도 災殃(재앙)의 날이 ㅓ忽然(홀연)히
臨(임)하면 거기 걸리느니라
Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them. For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them. |

● 내가 또 해 아래서 智慧(지혜)를 보고 크게 여긴 것이 이러하니
I also saw under the sun this example of wisdom that greatly impressed me: This wisdom have I seen also under the sun, and it seemed great unto me: |

곧 어떤 작고 人口(인구)가 많지 않은 城邑(성읍)에 큰 임금이 와서 에워싸고 큰 胸璧(흉벽)을 쌓고 치고자 할 때에
There was once a small city with only a few people in it. And a powerful king came against it, surrounded it and built huge siegeworks against it. There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it: |

그 城邑(성읍) 가운데 ㅕ가난한 智慧者(지혜자)가 있어서 그 ㅗ智慧(지혜)로 그 城邑(성읍)을 건진 것이라 그러나 이 가난한 者(자)를 記憶(기억)하는 사람이 없었도다
Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man. Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. |

그러므로 내가 이르기를 ㅛ智慧(지혜)가 힘보다 낫다마는 ㅜ가난한 者(자)의 智慧(지혜)가 蔑視(멸시)를 받고 그 말이 申請(신청)되지
아니한다 하였노라
So I said, "Wisdom is better than strength." But the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded. Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard. |

● ㅠ從容(종용)히 들리는 智慧者(지혜자)의 말이 愚昧者(우매자)의 어른의 號令(호령)보다 나으니라

The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools. The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools. |

으智慧(지혜)가 兵器(병기)보다 나으니라 그러나 이한 罪人(죄인)이 많은 善(선)을 敗壞(패괴)케 하느니라
Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good. Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good. |
