Then David fled from Naioth at Ramah and went to Jonathan and asked, "What have I done? What is my crime? How have I wronged your father, that he is trying to take my life?" And David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, What have I done? what is mine iniquity? and what is my sin before thy father, that he seeketh my life? |

요나단이 그에게 이르되 決斷(결단)코 아니라 네가 죽지 아니하리라 ㅏ내 父親(부친)이 大小事(대소사)를 내게 알게 아니하고는 行(행)함이 없나니 내 父親(부친)이 어찌하여 이 일은 내게 숨기리요 그렇지 아니하니라

Never! Jonathan replied. "You are not going to die! Look, my father doesn't do anything, great or small, without confiding in me. Why would he hide this from me? It's not so!" And he said unto him, God forbid; thou shalt not die: behold, my father will do nothing either great or small, but that he will shew it me: and why should my father hide this thing from me? it is not so. |

다윗이 또 盟誓(맹세)하여 가로되 ㅑ내가 네게 恩惠(은혜) 받은 줄을 네 父親(부친)이 밝히 알고 스스로 이르기를 요나단이 슬퍼할까 두려운즉 그로 이를 알게 하지 아니하리라 함이니라 그러나 眞實(진실)로 ㅓ여호와의 사심과 ㅕ네 生命(생명)으로 盟誓(맹세)하노니 나와 死亡(사망)의 사이는 한 걸음 뿐이니라
But David took an oath and said, "Your father knows very well that I have found favor in your eyes, and he has said to himself, 'Jonathan must not know this or he will be grieved.' Yet as surely as the LORD lives and as you live, there is only a step between me and death." And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knoweth that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death. |

요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 네 마음의 所願(소원)이 무엇이든지 내가 너를 爲(위)하여 그것을 이루리라
Jonathan said to David, "Whatever you want me to do, I'll do for you." Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will even do it for thee. |

다윗이 요나단에게 이르되 來日(내일)은 ㅗ月朔(월삭)인즉 내가 마땅히 王(왕)을 모시고 앉아 食事(식사)를 하여야 할 것이나 ㅛ나를 보내어 第(제) 三日(삼일) 저녁까지 들에 숨게 하고
So David said, "Look, tomorrow is the New Moon festival, and I am supposed to dine with the king; but let me go and hide in the field until the evening of the day after tomorrow. And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, to morrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even. |

ㅜ네 父親(부친)이 萬一(만일) 나를 仔細(자세)히 묻거든 그 때에 너는 말하기를 다윗이 自己(자기) 城(성) ㅠ베들레헴으로 急(급)히 가기를 내게 許(허)하라 懇請(간청)하였사오니 이는 온 家族(가족)을 爲(위)하여 거기서 으每年祭(매년제)를 드릴 때가 됨이니이다 하라
If your father misses me at all, tell him, 'David earnestly asked my permission to hurry to Bethlehem, his hometown, because an annual sacrifice is being made there for his whole clan.' If thy father at all miss me, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city: for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family. |

그의 말이 좋다하면 네 종이 平安(평안)하려니와 그가 萬一(만일) 怒(노)하면 나를 이害(해)하려고 決心(결심)한 줄을 알지니
If he says, 'Very well,' then your servant is safe. But if he loses his temper, you can be sure that he is determined to harm me. If he say thus, It is well; thy servant shall have peace: but if he be very wroth, then be sure that evil is determined by him. |

그런즉 願(원)컨대 네 종에게 仁慈(인자)히 行(행)하라 ㅐ네가 네 종으로 여호와 앞에서 너와 盟約(맹약)케 하였음이니라 그러나 ㄱ내게 罪惡(죄악)이 있거든 네가 親(친)히 나를 죽이라 나를 네 父親(부친)에게로 데려갈 것이 무엇이뇨
As for you, show kindness to your servant, for you have brought him into a covenant with you before the LORD. If I am guilty, then kill me yourself! Why hand me over to your father?" Therefore thou shalt deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of the LORD with thee: notwithstanding, if there be in me iniquity, slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father? |

요나단이 가로되 이 일이 決(결)코 네게 있지 아니하리라 내 父親(부친)이 너를 害(해)하려 決心(결심)한줄 알면 내가 네게 이르지 아니하겠느냐
Never! Jonathan said. "If I had the least inkling that my father was determined to harm you, wouldn't I tell you?" And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I knew certainly that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee? |

다윗이 요나단에게 이르되 네 父親(부친)이 或(혹) 嚴(엄)하게 네게 對答(대답)하면 누가 그것을 내게 告(고)하겠느냐
David asked, "Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?" Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what if thy father answer thee roughly? |

요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 오라 우리가 들로 가자 하고 두 사람이 들로 가니라
Come, Jonathan said, "let's go out into the field." So they went there together. And Jonathan said unto David, Come, and let us go out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field. |

● 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 證據(증거)하시거니와 내가 來日(내일)이나 모레 이맘때에 내 父親(부친)을 살펴서 너 다윗에게 對(대)한 意向(의향)이 善(선)하면 내가 보내어 네게 알게 하지 않겠느냐
Then Jonathan said to David: "By the LORD, the God of Israel, I will surely sound out my father by this time the day after tomorrow! If he is favorably disposed toward you, will I not send you word and let you know? And Jonathan said unto David, O LORD God of Israel, when I have sounded my father about to morrow any time, or the third day, and, behold, if there be good toward David, and I then send not unto thee, and shew it thee; |

그러나 萬一(만일) 내 父親(부친)이 너를 害(해)하려 하거늘 내가 이 일을 네게 알게 하여 너를 보내어 平安(평안)히 가게 하지 아니하면 ㄴ여호와께서 나 요나단에게 罰(벌)을 내리시고 또 내리시기를 願(원)하노라 ㄷ여호와께서 내 父親(부친)과 함께 하신 것 같이 너와 함께 하시기를 願(원)하노니
But if my father is inclined to harm you, may the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if I do not let you know and send you away safely. May the LORD be with you as he has been with my father. The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father to do thee evil, then I will shew it thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father. |

너는 나의 사는 날 동안에 여호와의 仁慈(인자)를 내게 베풀어서 나로 죽지 않게 할 뿐 아니라
But show me unfailing kindness like that of the LORD as long as I live, so that I may not be killed, And thou shalt not only while yet I live shew me the kindness of the LORD, that I die not: |
15 |
여호와께서 너 다윗의 對敵(대적)들을 地面(지면)에서 다 끊어버리신 때에도 ㄹ너는 네 仁慈(인자)를 내 집에서 永永(영영)히 끊어 버리지 말라 하고
and do not ever cut off your kindness from my family--not even when the LORD has cut off every one of David's enemies from the face of the earth." But also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth. |
16 |
이에 요나단이 다윗의 집과 言約(언약)하기를 ㅁ여호와께서는 다윗의 對敵(대적)들을 치실찌어다 하니라
So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, "May the LORD call David's enemies to account." So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, Let the LORD even require it at the hand of David's enemies. |
17 |
● 요나단이 다윗을 사랑하므로 그로 다시 盟誓(맹세)케 하였으니 ㅂ이는 自己(자기) 生命(생명)을 사랑함 같이 그를 사랑함이었더라
And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath out of love for him, because he loved him as he loved himself. And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul. |
18 |
요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 ㅅ來日(내일)은 ㅂ月朔(월삭)인즉 ㅇ네 자리가 비므로 ㅈ네가 없음을 仔細(자세)히 물으실 것이라
Then Jonathan said to David: "Tomorrow is the New Moon festival. You will be missed, because your seat will be empty. Then Jonathan said to David, To morrow is the new moon: and thou shalt be missed, because thy seat will be empty. |
19 |
너는 사흘을 있다가 빨리 내려가서 그 일이 있던 날에 숨었던 곳에 이르러 에셀 바위 곁에 있으라
The day after tomorrow, toward evening, go to the place where you hid when this trouble began, and wait by the stone Ezel. And when thou hast stayed three days, then thou shalt go down quickly, and come to the place where thou didst hide thyself when the business was in hand, and shalt remain by the stone Ezel. |

내가 과녁을 쏘려 함 같이 살 셋을 그 곁에 쏘고
I will shoot three arrows to the side of it, as though I were shooting at a target. And I will shoot three arrows on the side thereof, as though I shot at a mark. |
21 |
아이를 보내어 가서 살을 찾으라 하며 내가 짐짓 아이에게 이르기를 보라 살이 네 이便(편)에 있으니 가져오라 하거든 너는 돌아올지니 ㅊ여호와께서 사시거니와 네가 平安(평안) 無事(무사)할 것이요
Then I will send a boy and say, 'Go, find the arrows.' If I say to him, 'Look, the arrows are on this side of you; bring them here,' then come, because, as surely as the LORD lives, you are safe; there is no danger. And, behold, I will send a lad, saying, Go, find out the arrows. If I expressly say unto the lad, Behold, the arrows are on this side of thee, take them; then come thou: for there is peace to thee, and no hurt; as the LORD liveth. |

萬一(만일) 아이에게 이르기를 보라 ㅋ살이 네 앞便(편)에 있다 하거든 네 길을 가라 여호와께서 너를 보내셨음이니라

But if I say to the boy, 'Look, the arrows are beyond you,' then you must go, because the LORD has sent you away. But if I say thus unto the young man, Behold, the arrows are beyond thee; go thy way: for the LORD hath sent thee away. |

ㅌ너와 내가 말한 일에 對(대)하여는 ㅍ여호와께서 너와 나 사이에 永永(영영)토록 계시느니라

● 다윗이 들에 숨으니라 ㅂ月朔(월삭)이 되매 王(왕)이 앉아 음식을 먹을 때에
So David hid in the field, and when the New Moon festival came, the king sat down to eat. So David hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat meat. |

王(왕)은 平時(평시)와 같이 璧(벽) 곁 自己(자기) 자리에 앉았고 요나단은 섰고 아브넬은 사울의 곁에 앉았고 ㅎ다윗의 자리는 비었으나

He sat in his customary place by the wall, opposite Jonathan, and Abner sat next to Saul, but David's place was empty. And the king sat upon his seat, as at other times, even upon a seat by the wall: and Jonathan arose, and Abner sat by Saul's side, and David's place was empty. |

그러나 그 날에는 사울이 아무 말도 아니하였으니 이는 생각하기를 그에게 무슨 事故(사고)가 있어서 ㅏ不淨(부정)한가보다 丁寧(정녕)히 不淨(부정)한가보다 하였음이더니
Saul said nothing that day, for he thought, "Something must have happened to David to make him ceremonially unclean--surely he is unclean." Nevertheless Saul spake not any thing that day: for he thought, Something hath befallen him, he is not clean; surely he is not clean. |

이튿날 곧 달의 ㅑ第(제) 二日(이일)에도 다윗의 자리가 오히려 비었으므로 사울이 그 아들 요나단에게 묻되 이새의 아들이 어찌하여 어제와 오늘 食事(식사)에 나오지 아니하느뇨

But the next day, the second day of the month, David's place was empty again. Then Saul said to his son Jonathan, "Why hasn't the son of Jesse come to the meal, either yesterday or today?" And it came to pass on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that David's place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day? |

가로되 請(청)컨대 나로 가게 하라 우리 家族(가족)이 그 城(성)에서 祭祀(제사)할 일이 있으므로 나의 兄(형)이 내게 오기를 命(명)하였으니 내가 네게 사랑을 받거든 나로 가서 내 兄(형)들을 보게 하라 하였으므로 그가 王(왕)의 食事(식사) 자리에 오지 아니하였나이다
He said, 'Let me go, because our family is observing a sacrifice in the town and my brother has ordered me to be there. If I have found favor in your eyes, let me get away to see my brothers.' That is why he has not come to the king's table." And he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me to be there: and now, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he cometh not unto the king's table. |

● 사울이 요나단에게 怒(노)를 發(발)하고 그에게 이르되 悖逆不道(패역부도)의 계집의 所生(소생)아 네가 이새의 아들을 擇(택)한 것이 네 羞恥(수치)와 네 어미의 벌거벗은 羞恥(수치)됨을 내가 어찌 알지 못하랴
Saul's anger flared up at Jonathan and he said to him, "You son of a perverse and rebellious woman! Don't I know that you have sided with the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of the mother who bore you? Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy mother's nakedness? |

이새의 아들이 땅에 사는 동안은 너와 네 나라가 든든히 서지 못하리라 그런즉 이제 보내어 그를 내게로 끌어오라 그는 1)ㅕ죽어야 할 者(자)니라
As long as the son of Jesse lives on this earth, neither you nor your kingdom will be established. Now send and bring him to me, for he must die!" For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die. |

요나단이 그 父親(부친) 사울에게 對答(대답)하여 가로되 ㅗ그가 죽을 일이 무엇이니이까 무엇을 行(행)하였나이까

Why should he be put to death? What has he done? Jonathan asked his father. And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore shall he be slain? what hath he done? |

ㅛ사울이 요나단에게 短槍(단창)을 던져 치려 한지라 요나단이 그 父親(부친)이 ㅜ다윗을 죽이기로 決心(결심)한 줄 알고
But Saul hurled his spear at him to kill him. Then Jonathan knew that his father intended to kill David. And Saul cast a javelin at him to smite him: whereby Jonathan knew that it was determined of his father to slay David. |

甚(심)히 怒(노)하여 食事(식사) 자리에서 떠나고 달의 第(제) 二日(이일)에는 먹지 아니하였으니 이는 그 父親(부친)이 다윗을 辱(욕)되게 하였으므로 다윗을 爲(위)하여 슬퍼함이었더라
Jonathan got up from the table in fierce anger; on that second day of the month he did not eat, because he was grieved at his father's shameful treatment of David. So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no meat the second day of the month: for he was grieved for David, because his father had done him shame. |

● 아침에 요나단이 작은 아이를 데리고 다윗과 定(정)한 時間(시간)에 들로 나가서
In the morning Jonathan went out to the field for his meeting with David. He had a small boy with him, And it came to pass in the morning, that Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David, and a little lad with him. |
36 |
아이에게 이르되 달려가서 나의 쏘는 살을 찾으라 하고 아이가 달려 갈 때에 요나단이 살을 그의 위로 지나치게 쏘니라
and he said to the boy, "Run and find the arrows I shoot." As the boy ran, he shot an arrow beyond him. And he said unto his lad, Run, find out now the arrows which I shoot. And as the lad ran, he shot an arrow beyond him. |

아이가 요나단의 쏜 살 있는 곳에 이를 즈음에 요나단이 아이 뒤에서 외쳐 가로되 ㅠ살이 네 앞便(편)에 있지 아니하냐 하고

When the boy came to the place where Jonathan's arrow had fallen, Jonathan called out after him, "Isn't the arrow beyond you?" And when the lad was come to the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan cried after the lad, and said, Is not the arrow beyond thee? |

요나단이 아이 뒤에서 또 외치되 遲滯(지체) 말고 빨리 달음질하라 하매 요나단의 아이가 살을 주워가지고 主人(주인)에게로 돌아왔으나
Then he shouted, "Hurry! Go quickly! Don't stop!" The boy picked up the arrow and returned to his master. And Jonathan cried after the lad, Make speed, haste, stay not. And Jonathan's lad gathered up the arrows, and came to his master. |
39 |
그 아이는 아무런지 알지 못하고 요나단과 다윗만 그 일을 알았더라
(The boy knew nothing of all this; only Jonathan and David knew.) But the lad knew not any thing: only Jonathan and David knew the matter. |
40 |
요나단이 그 兵器(병기)를 아이에게 주며 이르되 이것을 가지고 城(성)으로 가라
Then Jonathan gave his weapons to the boy and said, "Go, carry them back to town." And Jonathan gave his artillery unto his lad, and said unto him, Go, carry them to the city. |
41 |
아이가 가매 다윗이 곧 바위 南便(남편)에서 일어나서 땅에 엎드려 세 番(번) 절한 後(후)에 彼此(피차) 입맞추고 같이 울되 다윗이 더욱 甚(심)하더니
After the boy had gone, David got up from the south side of the stone and bowed down before Jonathan three times, with his face to the ground. Then they kissed each other and wept together--but David wept the most. And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded. |

요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 으平安(평안)히 가라 우리 두 사람이 여호와의 이름으로 盟誓(맹세)하여 이르기를 이여호와께서 永遠(영원)히 나와 너 사이에 계시고 내 子孫(자손)과 ㅐ네 子孫(자손) 사이에 계시리라 하였느니라 다윗은 일어나 떠나고 요나단은 城(성)으로 들어오니라
Jonathan said to David, "Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the LORD, saying, 'The LORD is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants forever.'" Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town. And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city. |
