ㅎ에브라임 사람들이 기드온에게 이르되 네가 미디안과 싸우러 갈 때에 우리를 부르지 아니하였으니 우리를 이같이 待接(대접)함은 어찜이뇨 하고 크게 다투는지라
Now the Ephraimites asked Gideon, "Why have you treated us like this? Why didn't you call us when you went to fight Midian?" And they criticized him sharply.

기드온이 그들에게 이르되 나의 이제 行(행)한 일이 너희의 한 것에 比較(비교)되겠느냐 ㅏ에브라임의 끝물 葡萄(포도)가 아비에셀의 맏물 葡萄(포도)보다 낫지 아니하냐
But he answered them, "What have I accomplished compared to you? Aren't the gleanings of Ephraim's grapes better than the full grape harvest of Abiezer?

ㅑ하나님이 미디안 方伯(방백)오렙과 스엡을 너희 손에 붙이셨으니 나의 한 일이 어찌 能(능)히 너희의 한것에 比較(비교)되겠느냐 기드온이 이말을 하매 ㅓ그들의 怒(노)가 풀리니라
God gave Oreb and Zeeb, the Midianite leaders, into your hands. What was I able to do compared to you?" At this, their resentment against him subsided.

Gideon and his three hundred men, exhausted yet keeping up the pursuit, came to the Jordan and crossed it.

그가 ㅗ숙곳 사람들에게 이르되 나의 從者(종자)가 疲困(피곤)하여 하니 請(청)컨대 그들에게 떡덩이를 주라 나는 미디안 두 王(왕) 세바와 살문나를 따르노라
He said to the men of Succoth, "Give my troops some bread; they are worn out, and I am still pursuing Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian."

숙곳 方伯(방백)들이 가로되 ㅛ세바와 살문나의 손이 지금 어찌 네 손에 있관대 ㅜ우리가 네 軍隊(군대)에게 떡을 주겠느냐
But the officials of Succoth said, "Do you already have the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna in your possession? Why should we give bread to your troops?"

기드온이 가로되 그러면 여호와께서 세바와 살문나를 내 손에 붙이신 ㅠ後(후)에 내가 들가시와 찔레로 너희 살을 찢으리라 하고

Then Gideon replied, "Just for that, when the LORD has given Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, I will tear your flesh with desert thorns and briers."

From there he went up to Peniel and made the same request of them, but they answered as the men of Succoth had.

● 이 때에 세바와 살문나가 갈골에 있는데 ㄱ東方(동방)사람의 모든 軍隊(군데) 中(중)에 칼 든 者(자) 十(십)二萬名(이만명)이 죽었고 그들을 좇아 거기 있더라
Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor with a force of about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of the armies of the eastern peoples; a hundred and twenty thousand swordsmen had fallen.

ㄷ敵軍(적군)이 晏然(안연)히 있는 中(중)에 기드온이 ㄹ노바와 욕브하 東便(동편) 帳幕(장막)에 居(거)한 者(자)의 길로 올라가서 敵軍(적군)을 치니
Gideon went up by the route of the nomads east of Nobah and Jogbehah and fell upon the unsuspecting army.

세바와 살문나가 逃亡(도망)하는지라 기드온이 追擊(추격)하여 ㅁ미디안 두 王(왕)세바와 살문나를 사로잡고 그 온 軍隊(군대)를 파하니라

Zebah and Zalmunna, the two kings of Midian, fled, but he pursued them and captured them, routing their entire army.

Gideon son of Joash then returned from the battle by the Pass of Heres.

숙곳 사람 中(중) 한 少年(소년)을 잡아 訊問(신문)하매 숙곳 方伯(방백)과 長老(장로) 七十七人(칠십칠인)을 그를 爲(위)하여 記錄(기록)한지라
He caught a young man of Succoth and questioned him, and the young man wrote down for him the names of the seventy-seven officials of Succoth, the elders of the town.

기드온이 숙곳 사람들에게 이르러 가로되 너희가 前(전)에 나를 譏弄(기롱)하여 이르기를 ㅂ세바와 살문나의 손이 지금 어찌 네 손에 있관대 우리가 네 疲困(피곤)한 사람에게 떡을 주겠느냐 한 그 세바와 살문나를 보라하고

Then Gideon came and said to the men of Succoth, "Here are Zebah and Zalmunna, about whom you taunted me by saying, 'Do you already have the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna in your possession? Why should we give bread to your exhausted men?'"

He took the elders of the town and taught the men of Succoth a lesson by punishing them with desert thorns and briers.

Then he asked Zebah and Zalmunna, "What kind of men did you kill at Tabor?" "Men like you," they answered, "each one with the bearing of a prince."

Gideon replied, "Those were my brothers, the sons of my own mother. As surely as the LORD lives, if you had spared their lives, I would not kill you."

Turning to Jether, his oldest son, he said, "Kill them!" But Jether did not draw his sword, because he was only a boy and was afraid.

세바와 살문나가 가로되 네가 일어나 우리를 치라 대저 사람이 어떠하면 그 힘도 그러하니라 기드온이 일어나서 ㅊ세바와 살문나를 죽이고 ㅋ그 약대 목에 꾸몄던 새 달 形狀(형상)의 粧飾(장식)을 取(취)하니라
Zebah and Zalmunna said, "Come, do it yourself. 'As is the man, so is his strength.'" So Gideon stepped forward and killed them, and took the ornaments off their camels' necks.

● 때에 이스라엘 사람들이 기드온에게 이르되 當身(당신)이 우리를 미디안의 손에서 救援(구원)하셨으니 當身(당신)과 當身(당신)의 아들과 當身(당신)의 孫子(손자)가 우리를 다스리소서
The Israelites said to Gideon, "Rule over us--you, your son and your grandson--because you have saved us out of the hand of Midian."

기드온이 그들에게 이르되 내가 너희를 다스리지 아니하겠고 나의 아들도 너희를 다스리지 아니할 것이요 ㅌ여호와께서 너희를 다스리시리라
But Gideon told them, "I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you. The LORD will rule over you."

기드온이 또 그들에게 이르되 내가 너희에게 한 일을 請求(청구)하노니 너희는 各其(각기) 奪取(탈취)한 귀고리를 내게 줄찌니라 하니 ㅍ그 對敵(대적)은 이스마엘 사람이므로 金(금)귀고리가 있었음이라
And he said, "I do have one request, that each of you give me an earring from your share of the plunder." (It was the custom of the Ishmaelites to wear gold earrings.)

무리가 對答(대답)하되 우리가 즐거이 드리리이다 하고 겉옷을 펴고 各其(각기) 奪取(탈취)한 귀고리를 그 가운데 던지니
They answered, "We'll be glad to give them." So they spread out a garment, and each man threw a ring from his plunder onto it.

기드온의 請(청)한 바 金(금)귀고리 重數(중수)가 金(금) 一千(일천)七百(칠백)세겔이요 그 外(외)에 또 ㅎ새 달 形狀(형상)의 粧飾(장식)과 ㅏ佩物(패물)과 미디안 王(왕)들의 입었던 紫色(자색)의 福(복)과 그 약대 목에 둘렀던 사슬이 있었더라
The weight of the gold rings he asked for came to seventeen hundred shekels, not counting the ornaments, the pendants and the purple garments worn by the kings of Midian or the chains that were on their camels' necks.

기드온이 그 金(금)으로 ㅑ에봇 하나를 만들어서 自己(자기)의 城邑(성읍) ㅓ오브라에 두었더니 온 이스라엘이 ㅕ그것을 淫亂(음란)하게 爲(위)하므로 그것이 ㅗ기드온과 그 집에 올무가 되니라
Gideon made the gold into an ephod, which he placed in Ophrah, his town. All Israel prostituted themselves by worshiping it there, and it became a snare to Gideon and his family.

미디안이 이스라엘 子孫(자손)앞에 服從(복종)하여 다시는 그 머리를 들지 못하였으므로 ㅛ기드온의 사는 날 동안 四十年(사십년)에 그 땅이 泰平(태평)하였더라
Thus Midian was subdued before the Israelites and did not raise its head again. During Gideon's lifetime, the land enjoyed peace forty years.

● 요아스의 아들 ㅜ여룹바알이 돌아가서 自己(자기) 집에 居(거)하였는데
Jerub-Baal son of Joash went back home to live.

기드온이 아내가 많으므로 ㅠ몸에서 낳은 아들이 七十人(칠십인)이였고
He had seventy sons of his own, for he had many wives.

으세겜에 있는 妾(첩)도 아들을 낳았으므로 그 이름을 아비멜렉이라 하였더라

His concubine, who lived in Shechem, also bore him a son, whom he named Abimelech.

요아스의 아들 기드온이 이나이 많아 죽으매 아비에셀 사람의 ㅐ오브라에 있는 그의 아비 요아스의 墓室(묘실)에 葬事(장사)하였더라
Gideon son of Joash died at a good old age and was buried in the tomb of his father Joash in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

● ㄱ기드온이 이미 죽으매 이스라엘 子孫(자손)이 돌이켜 ㄴ바알들을 淫亂(음란)하게 爲(위)하고 또 ㄷ바알브릿을 自己(자기)들의 神(신)으로 삼고
No sooner had Gideon died than the Israelites again prostituted themselves to the Baals. They set up Baal-Berith as their god and

四面(사면)모든 對敵(대적)의 손에서 自己(자기)들을 건져내신 ㄹ여호와 自己(자기)들의 하나님을 記憶(기억)지 아니하며
did not remember the LORD their God, who had rescued them from the hands of all their enemies on every side.

ㅁ또 여룹바알이라 하는 기드온의 이스라엘에게 베푼 모든 恩惠(은혜)를 따라서 그의 집을 후대치도 아니하였더라

They also failed to show kindness to the family of Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon) for all the good things he had done for them.
